I am a South African writer, editor, researcher, and cultural strategist whose work engages the intersections of publishing, curatorial practice, media, and advocacy. I recently concluded my tenure as Head of Media and Cultural Strategy at Southern Guild Gallery (Cape Town and Los Angeles) in order to focus full-time on my independent consultancy, Studio Nkosi.
Studio Nkosi is a strategy consultancy and creative studio dedicated to supporting institutions, artists, publishers, and advocacy organisations in the development of thoughtful, collaborative, and impact-driven projects. Our work spans a wide range of practices, including:
Strategic and Business Planning
Communications and Marketing Strategy
Exhibition Making and Curatorial Advisory
Editorial and Publication Development
UX, Content, and Product Strategy
Leadership Coaching and Professional Development
Historical, Cultural, and Site-based Research
My background draws on more than a decade of experience across traditional and digital media. I have led editorial strategy for platforms such as Arts24, Moya Literary Magazine, and Chimurenga Chronic, and have contributed to international publications including Art Basel, Africa is a Country, and The Mail & Guardian. In addition to editorial work, I have curated exhibitions, produced public programmes, developed podcasts, and served on adjudication panels for a range of arts and literary awards.
At the heart of my practice is a commitment to cultivating sustainable and equitable cultural ecosystems. Through Studio Nkosi, I continue to collaborate with institutions and practitioners who are shaping the cultural and creative landscapes of the present and future. Together, we work to develop strategic visions, narrative infrastructures, and transformative practices that centre care, context, and impact.
